AECOM is expanding its Water Resources Team in South East Queensland, driven by significant contract awards. As an Expert Water Resources Specialist, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team providing integrated delivery of water resources services across various sectors.

Job Overview

This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, leading and delivering flood risk management, flood modelling and hydrology/hydraulic assessment support while focusing on technical excellence. You will also collaborate with professionals in different geographies, build relationships with internal and external clients, and coach junior professionals.

The ideal candidate has tertiary qualifications in civil or environmental engineering and experience with water resource modelling and design packages. Strong client focus, excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities
  • Work on complex projects, applying expertise in flood risk management, flood modelling, and hydrology/hydraulic assessment
  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver high-quality project outputs and ensure client satisfaction
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Mentor and guide junior professionals in their growth and development
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in civil or environmental engineering (RPEQ/CPEng highly regarded)
  • Experience with water resource modelling and design packages such as TUFLOW, DRAINS, HEC-RAS, RORB, XPRAFTS, URBS, 12d, MUSIC, GoldSim, IQQM, Source, etc.
  • Strong client focus, excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good working knowledge of ARR 2019, TMR Drainage Manual, and QUDM
