Electrical Fitter Role

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Fitter to join our team and contribute to the maintenance of a future-focused electricity network in the ACT.

About the Job

This is an exciting opportunity to work on various tasks associated with the construction and maintenance of electrical networks. As an Electrical Fitter, you will be responsible for undertaking distribution asset construction and maintenance, including cable termination, mini pillar maintenance, and switchgear maintenance.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Distribution asset construction and maintenance, including cable termination, mini pillar maintenance, and switchgear maintenance
  • Fault response and rectification works
  • The installation of services from the distribution network to customer premises
  • Connection and disconnection of supply, including non-payment of account disconnections
  • Participation in on-call and shift-work rosters as necessary, based on policy

To be successful in this role, you will need to have previous successful work experience in the field, particularly in the construction and/or maintenance of network infrastructure.

Requirements

In order to be considered for this position, you will need to meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum Certificate III Systems Electrician qualification
  • Previous successful work experience in the field, particularly in the construction and/or maintenance of network infrastructure
  • High risk license - EWP (Elevating Work Platform)
  • Occupational Health and Safety General Induction Card
  • Asbestos Awareness training
  • Hold a current ACT motor vehicle licence or its acceptable equivalent
