Job Title: Arc Researcher Position

Job Description:

• This is a full-time position within the Tectonics and Earth Systems Group at the University of Adelaide.
• The role involves studying Proterozoic sedimentology and sedimentary geochemistry, focusing on Proterozoic sedimentary basins across Australia, India, and other locations.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct field-based sedimentary geology and sedimentary geochemistry analyses.
• Collect elemental geochemical data and interpret it in terms of sedimentary processes (redox conditions, salinity, weathering, biological productivity).
• Apply isotopic geochemistry to sedimentary geochemistry and Proterozoic Earth system evolution.

Requirements:

• PhD or equivalent in earth sciences (or thesis submitted).
• Demonstrated research ability in sedimentology and sedimentary geochemistry, preferably with Proterozoic expertise.
• Experience in field-based sedimentology and sedimentary geochemistry, with data interpretation related to redox, salinity, weathering, or productivity.
• Good organizational and time management skills; ability to work collaboratively with research students.
