Position Overview
The Hydraulic Services Designer will play a crucial role in executing hydraulic design for diverse projects, including sectors such as aged care, healthcare, retail, residential, defense, industrial, and government.
This position is pivotal in supporting the company's expansion by actively engaging in marketing initiatives and client interactions.
The successful candidate will manage projects of varying sizes, offering guidance and mentorship to junior team members while working with minimal oversight.
Key Responsibilities
1. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of relevant Australian Standards (e.g., AS3500, AS2419, AS5601) and local regulations.
2. Develop hydraulic services designs for projects, including design basis, scope of works, and specifications, adhering to established standards and engineering best practices.
3. Participate in construction support activities, addressing requests for information (RFIs), reviewing submissions, conducting site visits, and managing design changes.
4. Identify time variations and communicate their impact on project schedules and budgets to clients or management.
5. Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure seamless integration and perform checks on documents and drawings.
6. Proactively manage project risks and issues, maximizing opportunities while minimizing threats.
7. Utilize REVIT and CAD software as needed to assist in project delivery.
Candidate Requirements
- Strong project management and technical skills across engineering disciplines.
- Ability to take ownership of projects and communicate effectively with clients and team members.
- Proficient understanding of standards and legislation across various engineering fields.
- Excellent hydraulic engineering and assessment capabilities.
- Focused on time and budget deliverables, with the ability to motivate team members.
- Independent worker with a collaborative approach.
- Strong problem-solving skills to develop innovative solutions.
- Effective report writing and communication skills.
- Possession of a QBCC Hydraulic Services Licence or RPEQ, or the ability to obtain one.
