About the Service

As part of our inclusive campus community at Uniting Westmead, our long day care centre offers unique learning opportunities, with 75 places for children from 6 weeks to 5 years old, a fire pit, chickens, large free flowing learning spaces which bring the indoors outdoors. Our campus comprises of an Early Learning Centre, Residential Aged Care, Retirement living, Seniors Gym and a café open to the public. This provides opportunities to participate in Intergenerational programs as well as connecting with the local community.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Trainee, you will be allowed to study while gaining valuable experience in the Early Childhood Education field. You'll learn to provide quality education and care to children to help support and facilitate their learning outcomes in accordance with the National Quality Standards and learning framework

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Develop positive relationships that support children, their families and community
  • Facilitate play-based learning environments that are responsive to children's interests, strengths and abilities
  • Commitment to studying and learning while working in a rewarding environment

Requirements

  • You must be at least 18 years of age
  • No previous qualifications in Early Childhood Education
  • You'll be passionate about working with children of all ages
  • You'll be adaptable, empathetic and resourceful, and able to live our values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative and bold
