Salary: $88,178 per annum + Benefits

Position Type: Full-time Ongoing

We are seeking a Trade and Training Coordinator to join our team at South Coast Correctional Centre.

The successful candidate will supervise and develop inmates through managing, coaching, instructing, and encouraging them in order to improve their work skills and contribute productively to Service/Business Unit objectives.

The role involves overseeing the activities of the team to ensure productivity efficiency and commercial objectives are achieved while maintaining Workplace Health & Safety, Quality Management requirements, and customer service needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and train inmates in trade-related activities to enhance their post-release employment prospects.
  • Develop and implement training programs to improve work skills and productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with Work Health & Safety legislation and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Manage resources efficiently to achieve planned outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Relevant trade or tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate III level in Building/Construction, Metalwork, or a related field).
  • Current Certificate III in Correctional Practice or capacity to complete it within specified timeframes.
  • Current NSW Driver Licence and willingness to drive a vehicle for site support.
  • Ability to participate in an after-hours rostering system for 24/7 site support.
