Job Description

This role requires local technical support and design influence for major projects and center solutions. We are looking for a skilled professional to support the sales team in this area, particularly focusing on Colo & IMS, and achieve overall business sales targets.

The ideal candidate will have daily interaction with key functional areas of the business, provide direct support for the Sales and Product Management teams, and engage with the Data Centre community including end users, consulting and contractor fraternity, facility managers, builders, relevant government agencies, and data centre industry bodies.

Responsibilities
  • Provide sales staff with technical assistance and support information on Vertiv products to assist with the sales activity.
  • Review documentation submitted by Sales and generate Bill of materials (BOM) itemizing products and services included in offers.
  • Work with product management to source quotes from third-party products and services in support of offers.
  • Complete all work in a timely manner and develop and maintain relationships with consultants, contractors, and end users.
  • Conduct customer presentations to guide product selection and drive technical discussions.
  • Provide local technical support for major projects and data centre solutions and ensure that all calls and demonstrations are pre-planned and adequate back-up material is available.
Requirements
  • Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or HVAC or Thermal design and applications.
  • Experience with the design and applications of thermal units in data centres.
  • Experience in performing Six sigma CFD modeling and knowledge of AUTOCAD / Revit / BIM modeling.
  • Market knowledge of products, tender processes, and the application of products.
  • An understanding of the Data Centre industry, Six sigma CFD analysis, and good technical understanding and knowledge of the product to be supported.
  • Excellent competency in reading technical drawings and design specifications.
  • Knowledge of the application of Australian and international standards framework and industry codes.
Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year
