Job Opportunity for Metal Fabricator/Boilermaker

We are seeking skilled professionals to work on a variety of projects, including structural steelwork, precision welding and fabricating for food industry equipment.

About the Role:
  • To be successful in this role you will need to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine project requirements.
  • You will fabricate, assemble, and weld stainless steel, mild steel, and aluminium components using workshop machinery, including lathes, press brakes, plate benders, and plasma cutters.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in TIG, MIG, or aluminium welding and be able to perform these tasks to a high standard.
  • You will inspect and test fabricated products to ensure compliance with quality standards and work on-site for installations and maintenance when required.
  • This role involves working autonomously without supervision, managing a team if supplied to you on larger projects, and maintaining a clean and organised workspace.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  2. Fabricate, assemble, and weld metal components.
  3. Operate workshop machinery safely and efficiently.
  4. Perform TIG, MIG, and aluminium welding.
  5. Inspect and test fabricated products.
  6. Work on-site for installations and maintenance.
  7. Manage a team on larger projects.
  8. Maintain a clean and organised workspace.
Requirements:
  • A trade qualification in metal fabrication, boiler making, or a related field is essential.
  • Experience in TIG, MIG, or aluminium welding is necessary.
  • Proficiency in operating fabrication machinery is required.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints is necessary.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work is essential.
  • A willingness to travel to Tailem Bend daily or relocate closer if necessary is desirable.
  • A forklift and/or EWP license is a plus.
