About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working on small to medium scale projects that deliver real impact for clients while pushing the envelope, implementing best practice approaches. With a strong grasp of engineering first principles and mechanics, you should have a background in geotechnical engineering design and reporting work but are eager to expand your expertise in a dynamic multi-disciplinary environment.

You will be responsible for developing effective geotechnical design solutions across various scenarios and sectors. This includes preparing design memos/reports, implementing advice into specifications and drawing notes, scoping, pricing, supervising, and delivering appropriate geotechnical site investigation works in support of larger design packages.

As a senior team member, you will also assist in client relationship development, team training, and mentoring, and fostering strong interdepartmental relationships.

  • Developing effective geotechnical design solutions across various scenarios and sectors.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Masters in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Ideally 5 – 15 years of relevant experience in Geotechnical Engineering within an Australian Engineering consultancy.
  • Strong technical and reporting skills in retaining wall /slope design, soil-structure interaction problems, geotechnical parameter interpretation, and factual and interpretive geotechnical report writing.
  • Proficiency in using software packages such as Plaxis 2D & 3D / Slide2, Slope/W or equivalent.
  • Expert-level Excel or programming skills in JS, VBA, Python, etc, would be advantageous.
