About the Role

The Royal Australasian College of Physicians is seeking a suitably qualified General Physician to lead the delivery of adult general medicine services in the Medical Services Division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Role model and supervise the delivery of adult general medicine services, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and safety.
  • Achieve optimal length of stay for common general medicine presentations, without compromising patient safety.
  • Support and supervise Doctors in Training (DiTs), consistent with their level of training and individual learning needs.
  • Participate in the General Physician On-call roster, ensuring seamless coverage and patient care.
  • Actively participate in mandatory meetings, contributing to the development of medical services and patient care.
  • Maintain core clinical competence specific to the area of clinical practice, staying up-to-date with the latest medical research and guidelines.
  • Hold Specialist Registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a General Physician.
  • Demonstrate significant experience in the provision of adult medicine services, ideally including High Dependency Unit (HDU) and/or Acute Medical Unit (AMU) services.
