Underground Mining Specialist

About this role
As a Paste Plant Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of paste fill to specified locations. Your primary duties will include installing, maintaining, and monitoring paste fill reticulation and barricades, with a focus on keeping operations smooth and safe.
- Operate the Paste Plant Citec System
- Conduct pre- and post-fill inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Manage tailings stockpiles to minimize environmental impact
- Perform quality control and quality assurance (QAQC) test work to ensure the integrity of the paste fill system
- Troubleshoot and report equipment faults to maintain optimal system performance
- Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient working environment underground
You will also play a key role in maintaining environmental and occupational health and safety (OHS) standards, as these are non-negotiable aspects of our operations.
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, as well as a proactive mindset and a commitment to safety and sustainability.
RequirementsThe successful candidate will have:
- A current C-Class driver's license
- Working at Heights certification
- At least 12 months' experience in underground mining and general mine services
- Solid skills in operating heavy-duty equipment and light vehicles
- Mechanical aptitude and a knack for troubleshooting
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
