Medibank is a leading healthcare organization in Australia, dedicated to creating the best health and wellbeing for all Australians. We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Director to lead our digital health solutions team.

About the Role

As a Senior Technical Director, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and delivering technology solutions that meet the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction. You will work closely with our product management team to translate their expectations into fully developed functionality that meets customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead a team of up to 8 engineers, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure their success and growth.
  2. Design and develop software applications, including coding, testing, deployment, and configuration.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that technology solutions align with business goals and customer needs.
  4. Responsible for recruitment and management of team members, including leadership, mentoring, and career development.
  5. Conduct annual performance and development reviews for all direct reports.
  6. Develop and maintain partnerships within the business, fostering collaboration with external stakeholders.

Requirements

  1. Proven experience in software design and implementation leadership, ideally with years of leadership experience or demonstrated capability in a similar role.
  2. Working experience using React and Java or similar programming languages.
  3. Experience working in an agile team, utilizing Scrum or Kanban.
  4. Previous experience working within the scaled agile framework (SAFe) is highly regarded.
  5. Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices patterns.
  6. Good knowledge of AWS Services.

What We Offer

Medibank offers a competitive salary range of $180,000 - $250,000 per annum, depending on experience. We also offer a range of benefits, including flexible working arrangements, professional development opportunities, and a comprehensive health and wellbeing program.
