About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our passionate and engaged team as a Medical Support Specialist. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Communicating with medical staff, both onsite and off-site, to ensure seamless coordination of patient care.
  • Answering enquiries, coordinating courier and medical center collections, and assisting with pathology results to maintain accurate and timely communication.
  • Handling calls from collectors in the field, addressing questions specific to test inquiries, and managing calls in a busy call center environment.
  • Working on weekends as required, with full training provided to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Maintaining customer confidentiality and adhering to departmental and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Liaising with laboratory staff to ensure efficient and effective communication.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, you will need to have a great blend of skills, including:

  • Sound typing/data entry skills (approximately 50 wpm with 98% accuracy) to maintain accurate and efficient data management.
  • Previous experience or knowledge of medical terminology is preferred to ensure accurate communication and data entry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to liaise with individuals at all levels of an organization.
  • A willingness to adhere to departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Must be a cohesive and contributing member of the team and display positive attitudes towards achieving outcomes.
  • Strong time management, interpersonal, and organizational skills to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent telephone manner to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Strong customer focus and general office skills to maintain a positive and efficient work environment.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite to maintain accurate and efficient data management.
