Overview
">This role is responsible for leading the development and implementation of a Safety and Wellbeing Management System that embeds psychological safety as a core principle. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in leading WHS initiatives and will be passionate about supporting employees through recovery, return-to-work planning, and psychological wellbeing programs.
">About the Position
">The Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager will lead a small team and work closely with senior leaders to create an environment where wellbeing is embedded into everyday practice. The manager will champion early intervention, proactive injury management, and safe, sustainable return-to-work programs.
">Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement the organisation's Safety and Wellbeing Management System, prioritising psychological safety and compliance with legislative obligations.">
- Lead wellbeing initiatives focused on mental health, resilience, and preventative strategies to foster a thriving workplace culture.">
- Provide expert guidance during critical incidents and ensure robust support systems are in place for affected employees.">
- Partner with senior leadership to drive strategic WHS priorities and promote a proactive, compassionate safety culture.">
- Mentor and support your WHS team, encouraging continuous learning, collaboration, and empowerment.">
Requirements
">- ">
- Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.">
- Proven experience leading WHS initiatives, preferably in the not-for-profit, healthcare, or community services sectors.">
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and incident management frameworks.">
- A passion for supporting people through recovery, return-to-work planning, and psychological wellbeing programs.">
- Outstanding communication and coaching skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders.">
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (highly regarded).">
