Job Title: Outdoor Educator

Join St Bernard's College as an Outdoor Educator and be part of a dynamic team that delivers a challenging and engaging program for students.

About the Role

This is a full-time Education Support role, with a one-year fixed-term contract or casual positions available commencing in 2025. The successful candidate will work in a team of Outdoor Educators to deliver a program that includes surfing, bushwalking, mountain biking, canoeing, and service learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver instruction on and participate in outdoor activities such as surfing, mountain biking, and canoeing.
  • Educate, supervise, and engage students in outdoor recreation experiences.
  • Support students' wellbeing, educational, and pastoral needs.
  • Encourage and assist student participation in outdoor activities.
  • Support and implement College regulations, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
  • A qualification in Outdoor Recreation or Education (Certificate IV level or higher).
  • Wilderness or Remote First Aid.
  • Working with Children Check.
  • VIT or National Police Records Check.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Community Surf Bronze Award/Surf Rescue Certificate.
  • Surfing Australia 'Foundation Coach' Certificate.
  • Canoeing Flat Water Instructor.
  • Light Rigid Bus Licence.
  • Hiking and Mountain Biking experience.

This role is classified under the Victorian Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022 (CEMEA) as Education Support, Category B, Level 2.
