Are you an expert in underground ventilation looking for a challenging role? We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineer - Site Ventilation to join our team.
About the RoleThis critical position plays a key part in delivering one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining effective underground ventilation systems to ensure safe and sustainable working conditions.
Main Responsibilities- Ventilation Design: Develop sustainable and compliant ventilation designs that prioritize employee safety and environmental sustainability.
- Concept Development: Produce high-quality underground ventilation concepts, layouts, and execution plans that meet regulatory standards.
- Scenario Planning: Conduct scenario planning and cost estimation (CAPEX/OPEX) to inform strategic decisions.
- Risk Management: Identify and manage risks to improve system reliability and performance.
- Survey and Testing: Conduct thorough ventilation surveys and implement testing areas to optimize system efficiency.
- Instrumentation Calibration: Calibrate and maintain ventilation instrumentation to ensure accurate data.
- Model Updates: Update ventilation network models using Ventsim or VUMA to reflect changes and improvements.
- Equipment Selection: Select appropriate ventilation equipment (fans, controls, ducting, filtration systems) to meet project requirements.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or Mine Environmental Control.
- Valid work rights for Australia.
- Valid Driver's License and Passport.
- Willingness to travel to mine sites and internationally.
- White Card.
- Graduate Diploma in Mine Ventilation.
- Postgraduate coursework or qualification in mine ventilation.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a mining or tunneling environment.
- Proficiency in mine ventilation software (e.g., VUMA, Ventsim).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and presentation abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong understanding of regulatory standards and safety practices.
