The role of a Gardening and Maintenance Professional at our organization involves maintaining the grounds and performing minor maintenance tasks to ensure a safe and pleasant environment for our residents. Responsibilities include:

• Performing gardening duties such as pruning, weeding, mowing, cutting back bushes, and maintaining the overall appearance of the grounds.

• Assisting with minor maintenance tasks as needed and serving as a backup for the Maintenance Officer

• Collaborating with the aged care team to identify and address garden needs.

• Operating and maintaining equipment in line with site procedures and manufacturer instructions.

• Contributing to a positive safety culture by adhering to WH&S policies and actively participating in safety initiatives.

• Providing friendly and engaging service to residents and staff, ensuring customer satisfaction is at the forefront of all actions.

Requirements for this role include:

  • Certificate III in Horticulture and/or relevant trade qualifications with significant experience in gardening and grounds maintenance.
  • Proven ability to manage time effectively, work independently, and maintain high standards in gardening and minor maintenance tasks.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to work to established procedures.
  • Excellent time management skills to ensure jobs are completed within required time frames.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
