About the Role
Head Medical is seeking a skilled Child and Youth Psychiatrist to join our team at Cairns Hospital and Health Service.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality inpatient and outpatient mental health clinical services to children and youth.
- Manage patients with complex mental health treatment needs and/or in situations of high clinical risk.
- Lead and function within a multidisciplinary mental health clinical team and work collaboratively with consultant psychiatrist colleagues.
- Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with non-mental health medical practitioners and other service providers.
- Provide clinical teaching to junior medical staff, medical students, and other mental health clinicians.
About the Team
Cairns and Hinterland Mental Health Alcohol Tobacco and Other Drugs Service (MHATODS) provides a range of community and inpatient services, staffed by multidisciplinary teams with a broad mix of skills, knowledge, and professional backgrounds.
