Family Support Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a Family Support Specialist to join our team at Hope Community Services. As a key member of our team, you will work in a strengths-based, child-centred, family-focused way where the wellbeing and safety of children and young people remains paramount.
Job Summary: The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting child safe assessments, strengthening family connections, promoting placement prevention, and developing comprehensive family plans using a wrap-around approach.
About You: To be successful in this role, you should have a relevant qualification in Community Services or a related discipline and be progressing towards completion. Additionally, you should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, time management and organisational skills, and intermediate to advanced computer literacy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct child safe assessments using risk assessment tools
- Work in a strengths-based, child-centred, family-focused way
- Strengthen family connections and promote placement prevention
- Develop comprehensive family plans using a wrap-around approach
- Support families in understanding child development and positive parenting skills
- Provide support to parents struggling with individual issues
- Assist families to improve their relationship, communication and problem-solving skills
- Advocate for the needs of children, youth, and families

The estimated annual salary for this position is $65,000-$75,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
