Role Overview

The Subsea Operations Engineer is responsible for executing subsea engineering tasks as directed by the Senior or Principal Engineer to meet project goals. This role involves ensuring the safe and timely delivery of quality work products.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Execute engineering tasks as required for various projects and tenders, adhering to corporate standards and client specifications.
  2. Deliver safe, high-quality, and environmentally responsible engineering solutions while maintaining a schedule for assigned tasks.
  3. Originate and review engineering deliverables in accordance with project review protocols.
  4. Provide mentorship to junior engineers and collaborate with engineering and drafting teams on project requirements.
  5. Support field engineering activities, assisting with fabrication, testing, and construction efforts.
  6. Engage in technical discussions with clients, suppliers, and consultants to resolve engineering issues.
  7. Contribute to the development of engineering guidelines and processes.
  8. Participate in health, safety, and environmental initiatives, including risk assessments and job safety analyses.
  9. Lead after-action reviews related to offshore operations to capture lessons learned and implement necessary improvements.
  10. Provide ongoing technical support for operations, troubleshooting field issues, and conducting root cause analyses.
  11. Manage smaller work packages related to subsea services, working independently with oversight and guidance.
  12. Assist in planning and executing subsea service projects, reviewing necessary technical documentation for operations.
  13. Participate in factory acceptance testing and collaborate with product teams during design and operational planning stages.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering relevant to the discipline.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
  • 2-3 years of relevant industry experience; prior offshore experience is advantageous.
  • In-depth knowledge of at least one TechnipFMC subsea product line or familiarity with multiple technologies and applications.
  • Strong understanding of engineering practices, design methodologies, and calculations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on preventive measures.
  • Ability to interpret and prepare technical documentation, suggesting design or process improvements for efficiency.
  • Offshore experience is preferred.
  • Experience with subsea production systems is a plus.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience is desirable.
