This is an exciting opportunity to lead and manage a team of professionals in delivering family history services.

The Assistant Director will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance culturally appropriate access to the AIATSIS collection and Indigenous family history research.

Key Responsibilities include:

","
  • Developing business plans and strategies to achieve unit goals","
  • Supervising and supporting staff in the delivery of family history services","
  • Preparing correspondence, reports, submissions, proposals, and briefing papers for senior staff","
  • Managing complex and sensitive issues, including staff processes and unaccredited training for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community organizations","
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with external stakeholders, including Link-Up organizations","
  • Undertaking family history outreach and promotion, including delivering public presentations and improving engagement with Indigenous communities","
