About the Role

The Manager Obligations will play a key role in managing TSA obligations within policy and risk appetite across the 'Bank Transition' Business Unit. This involves overseeing a range of business and IT services spanning up to 5 years, facilitating the seamless divestment of Suncorp Bank from the Suncorp Group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing support, oversight, and challenge over obligations management practices for TSA Operations, including contractual requirements and controls identification and management, compliance, incident and breach management, regulatory change, monitoring, reporting, and governance.
  • Identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational risks related to contractual and regulatory obligations.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for regulatory and contractual queries regarding TSA operations.
  • Supporting TSA Operations and the broader business unit to maintain an effective control framework.
  • Providing timely, pragmatic, and commercially focused advice to the business on compliance matters.
  • Ensuring adequate compliance and control reporting to support SML in meeting its CPS231 obligations.
  • Identifying improvements to reduce contractual and regulatory risk through enhanced controls.
  • Managing the investigation of incidents, breach assessments, and required treatment plans.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of business, IT, or regulatory compliance/risk management experience in the financial services industry.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience managing complex relationships underpinned by contractual and regulatory obligations, such as APRA/AUSTRAC.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in balancing compliance-related requirements with budgetary and commercial realities and business goals.
  • A deep understanding of risk and compliance management in complex organisations.
  • Understanding of Legislative, regulatory, and code or practice requirements impacting Suncorp as a Group (e.g., Privacy Act, Trade Practices legislation, ASIC policy/APRA prudential standards, etc.).
