We're seeking a Senior Technical Architect to join our team at Woolworths Group. This role will be based in Surry Hills and offer flexible working from home options.

About the Role

This is a permanent hybrid role that requires a technical leader who can work across all squads and chapters within their value stream or tribe, focusing on complex and high-impact technical changes or implementations.

In consultation with the value stream or tribe leadership team, this role has the flexibility to identify areas for focus and dive deep to ensure teams are set up for technical success.

This position involves coaching and guiding squads through the application lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and deployment. Additionally, it may involve building proof-of-concept capabilities to validate assumptions before investing in technology or team time.

About You

You'll require excellent technical and leadership skills, as well as the ability to translate business strategy into action and understand how application, information, and technology engineering functions come together.

As you'll engage with senior business and technology stakeholders, you'll need excellent communication and influencing skills.

  • Demonstrated experience in solution design and worked across hosted cloud environments in Kubernetes
  • Experience developing solutions based on REST APIs, along with experience with large web e-commerce sites (Preference Retail)
  • Understanding of cloud infrastructure (IAAS) technology (terraform)
  • Experience working on transformation programs, along with network design subnets and access control
  • Experience troubleshooting bottlenecks and performance issues across the full stack
  • Experience in asynchronous design patterns
  • Demonstrated experience working across both commercially off-the-shelf and custom-built applications
  • Exposure to Google and Azure infrastructure used in modern web architecture
  • Exposure to MS SQL server, MySQL performance tuning, and designing with NoSQL
  • Worked with modern JavaScript (React), Web Framework, Modern Node Web framework, and Modern Java and/or .Net
