Education Assistant - Special Needs

We are seeking to establish a pool of special education assistants for permanent and fixed term vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2026.

The role involves supporting the creation of required learning environments to encourage students with disabilities to reach their full potential. You will assist in the development, implementation, and assessment of specialised education programs, including the operation of digital technologies and individual student or small group programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and assessment of specialised education programs.
  • Support the creation of required learning environments to encourage students with disabilities to reach their full potential.
  • Operate digital technologies as part of education programs.
  • Provide feedback on education and therapy programs and participate in evaluation processes.
  • Contribute to a professional team providing advice and evaluation in the development of education programs.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to contribute to a professional team.
  • Knowledge and understanding of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
  • Ability to assist professionals in the implementation and evaluation of education programs.
  • Organisational skills to deliver effective education programs and subsequent feedback and evaluation.
