We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Kitchen Professional to join our culinary team at Kimpton Sydney. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Maintain high-quality menu knowledge and make recommendations to enhance the guest experience.
  2. Ensure accurate stock management and control inventory to minimize waste and ensure proper storage.
  3. Receive and inspect deliveries, recording any discrepancies or damages for follow-up.
  4. Implement recycling efforts and adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) to minimize breakages and waste.
  5. Maintain high personal appearance and hygiene standards in line with hotel policies.
  6. Assist the Head Chef in managing the kitchen, ensuring efficient and flexible service delivery.
  7. Develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, guests, and external parties through effective communication.
  8. Participate in training sessions and contribute to the development of staff.
  9. Perform daily tasks efficiently, including meal preparation, presentation, and plating.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • Excellent menu knowledge and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work well under pressure and adapt to changing situations.
  • Familiarity with food safety practices and SOPs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in hospitality or culinary arts an asset.
