Job Description

**Urban Design Project Manager**

We are seeking an experienced Urban Design Project Manager to join our team at Chandler Macleod. As an Urban Design Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of urban design capital projects, including the implementation of high-quality, sustainable design and revitalization of public spaces in Melbourne's Inner North.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project manage the delivery of urban design capital projects, incorporating Council's environmental sustainability objectives and targets into projects and programs.
  • Lead risk management practice by identifying, assessing, influencing, preventing, treating, and monitoring risk relevant to the role, the work area, and broader organization.
  • Champion customer-centric behaviors and staff and community engagement that supports collaboration and richer outcomes.
  • Support the Unit Manager Urban Design in the delivery of an integrated place management approach and urban design-related matters.
Requirements
  • Highly developed project management skills, particularly in the delivery of complex public space and streetscape capital projects in urban environments and activity centers.
  • Hands-on experience with contract management, including practices relating to budgeting processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand, interpret, and apply relevant legislation.
  • Highly developed conceptual, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Experience in complex stakeholder management.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in customer service.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualification in urban design, landscape architecture, or civil engineering or a related field with relevant experience or lesser qualifications with substantial experience and skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in Project Management in capital works delivery, particularly in the delivery of complex public space and streetscape capital projects in urban environments and activity centers.
  • Experience in Local Government or other levels of government is desirable but not essential.
  • White Card construction site license.
  • Highly developed contract management skills, including practices relating to budgeting processes.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) with the ability to liaise with a variety of internal and external contacts in a clear and professional manner.
