Senior Waste Management Professional

A Senior / Principal level Waste Engineer is required to lead and support our Waste Engineering Service offering on the East Coast of Australia.

  1. Provide technical input on landfill design projects including:
  • Basal lining systems
  • Leachate, gas and surface water management systems
  • Closure and capping system
  • Capacity modelling and phasing plans
Contribute to technical input on Waste Transfer Stations and Recycling facilities design projects including:
  • Structures
  • Drainage systems
  • Traffic management systems
Carry out feasibility assessments and financial modelling;Assist with approvals input and guidance;Coordinate necessary field investigations including site inspections and geotechnical investigations, interpretation of data and stability risk assessments;Prepare design documentation including specifications, bills of quantities, designers risks assessment and construction quality assurance plans;Tender construction works (including local government procurement process);Evaluate and administer contracts;Ensure construction quality assurance and superintendent work.

A successful candidate will possess a Civil / Environmental / Geotechnical Engineering degree or similar, with 5 + years' experience on waste management infrastructure or similar design projects.

This role involves technical involvement in earthworks, roads, drainage and other public works projects, as well as project management and staff management.

Strong reporting and communication skills, along with AutoCAD appreciation and similar packages, are highly valued.

Business development opportunities must be identified and secured.
