As a Residential Support Worker at Stride, you will play a vital role in supporting young people with mental health issues in a residential setting. Your primary responsibility will be to provide quality support and services that promote their recovery and independence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to young people, focusing on their unique needs and goals.
- Work collaboratively with young people to develop and implement personalized recovery plans.
- Assist young people in developing daily living skills, such as cooking, cleaning, and time management.
- Mentor and support young people in building positive relationships and social skills.
- Encourage and educate young people on healthy living habits and emotional well-being.
Requirements:
- Minimum of Cert IV in Mental Health, Community Services, or a related discipline.
- Experience working with young people with mental health issues.
- Demonstrated ability to relate to young people, their families, and other stakeholders with dignity and respect.
- Ability to assess risk and manage crisis situations effectively.
- Effective listening and communication skills.
- Understanding of duty of care, privacy, and confidentiality principles.
- Ability to link young people with community resources and promote their rights and responsibilities.
