Regional Training Hub and Medical Transition Director

About This Opportunity
The University of Queensland seeks an experienced academic leader to provide strategic direction and leadership to the Regional Training Hub Central Queensland, a key initiative in enhancing the transition of medical graduates to internship and improving the recruitment and retention of medical graduates and junior doctors in the region.
The successful candidate will promote inclusivity and a sense of belonging for students and junior doctors, fostering a mutually supportive environment to allow medical students and junior doctors to flourish and thrive in the regional setting.
This is a teaching-focused position, and the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing educational programs to improve the transition of medical graduates to internship and improve the recruitment and retention of medical graduates and junior doctors in the region.
The position requires strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Regional Training Hub Central Queensland
- Develop and implement educational programs to improve the transition of medical graduates to internship
- Foster a culture of inclusivity and a sense of belonging for students and junior doctors
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including medical students, junior doctors, and healthcare professionals
- Provide leadership and management to a team of staff and students
Requirements:
- PhD or equivalent in a relevant field
- Proven track record of leadership and management experience in a higher education or healthcare setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
