Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Midwife to join our team. As a Registered Midwife, you will be responsible for providing all aspects of pregnancy, birth and postnatal care in our antenatal clinics and services, on our maternity wards and in birth suites, in addition to care for our babies in our special care nurseries.
The successful candidate will have a sound knowledge of relevant legislation, professional codes, and standards, as well as a commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
About the Role:
- Assesses plans, delivers and evaluates patient care, seeking support from senior staff as required.
- Promotes and contributes to effective communication, facilitating teamwork and cooperation within the ward and within the hospital.
- Provides patient education and acts as a resource where appropriate.
- Supports and supervises staff and students as required, including orientating and preceptoring staff.
- Contributes to the achievement of Hospital and Clinical Services operational objectives.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- You must be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Midwife.
- Recent clinical experience within Maternity or similar environment is essential.
