The Major Construction Supervisor role involves overseeing major construction and maintenance works for water and wastewater distribution and headwork facilities. This dedicated position requires planning, supervising, and leading a team to ensure optimal performance.
- Lead and manage the operations of a team within Council to enable Council to function at an optimal level.
- Exhibit leadership behaviours by showing initiative, taking responsibility for self and group actions and referring issues of ethics and probity.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying improvements to processes and practices and supporting change.
This role oversees a team of 8 direct reports and plays a key role in maintaining customer service standards, environmental protection, workplace safety and support the day-today operation for the team.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support a team to enable Council to function at an optimal level.
- Provide advice in relation to major sewer repairs to the Construction Coordinator.
- Actively promote involvement of staff in team meetings.
- Ensure adequate level and distribution of staffing is maintained to meet operational requirements.

Being available to be on-call and complete reasonable overtime is a requirement of this position.
About You / Qualifications
- Certificate IV in Water Industry or relevant trade qualifications.
- Class C Driver's Licence.
- Current NSW SafeWork First Aid Certificate.
- Current National WHS Construction Card (SafeWork).
- Recent relevant experience in water and/or wastewater infrastructure work.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Project or similar software.
This role requires a commitment to undertaking relevant workplace training and a willingness to work on call.
A demonstrated ability to provide effective customer service and follow defined WHS policies and procedures is also essential.
