Job Title: Web Application Engineer

Location: Melbourne CBD

Salary: 120-140k

About the Client:

Our long-standing client in the financial services sector is seeking a skilled Web Application Engineer to join their team in Melbourne's CBD.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct system analysis, design, development, and implementation of web applications and databases.
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies and procedures, particularly those related to quality and productivity, as well as Information Security requirements.
  • Understand client business functions and technology needs, including tools, technologies, and databases interfacing with various business areas.
  • Act as a system tester, writing test plans, and ensuring deliverables meet requirements.
  • Elevate code through development, testing, and production environments, and provide ongoing support.
  • Translate technical specifications into code for new or enhanced projects, following software development methodologies and architecture standards.
  • Participate in design, code, and test inspections throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Participate in special projects and fulfill additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • An undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent training and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience working with web and enterprise technologies.
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry, particularly investment management.
  • A passionate developer with expertise in various methodologies, including Agile and DevOps principles, and hands-on experience with multiple IT platforms and languages, such as AWS, Java, NodeJS, and JavaScript.
  • Strong understanding of cloud technologies, CI/CD practices, and modern development tools, including Git, GitHub, Jenkins, and Docker.
  • Experience with API management platforms and best practices.
  • A mindset that questions the status quo and drives value delivery to customers.
