Commercial Legal Specialist

We are seeking a hands-on commercial lawyer to join our client on a short-term contract with potential for extension or to move into a permanent position.
As a senior legal professional, you will work closely with the Senior Legal Manager and General Counsel to advise the business on their objectives, providing clear practical legal advice.
- Advise on commercial agreements, dispute resolution, employment law, workplace safety, privacy, competition, and regulatory issues
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with a solutions-focused approach
- Identify, monitor, and mitigate legal and compliance risks; track changes in laws and regulations
- Design and deliver training on antitrust, anti-corruption, contract management, and other legal topics
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners
Location & Team Based in Melbourne Docklands office on a 3-days onsite / 2-days remote schedule. You'll join a close-knit legal group that values straightforward advice and strong interpersonal skills.
Requirements
• 5+ years post-qualification experience in mid or top-tier law firms
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communicator able to build rapport with commercial teams and external advisors
