Client Support Specialist

The role of a Client Support Specialist is to provide critical support services to clients who have experienced trauma. This includes conducting assessments, identifying client needs, and coordinating referrals to external services.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of crisis intervention and risk management practices, as well as excellent interpersonal skills. They will be able to work empathetically with clients who have experienced trauma and maintain confidential records of client assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop action plans to address identified needs.
  • Screen and assess client needs via phone and online inquiries, prioritize cases, and schedule follow-up appointments with clinicians or external services.
  • Identify clients in crisis and coordinate immediate interventions or referrals to ensure timely support.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure clients receive a coordinated and seamless support experience.
  • Serve as an advocate for clients, fostering positive relationships with other agencies and support services.
  • Maintain up-to-date and confidential records of client assessments, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Participate in team activities, including training, supervision, and development opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in health, social sciences, community services, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years' experience in conducting intake assessments, triaging cases, and supporting women who have experienced trauma.
  • Comprehensive understanding of evidence-based practices for Domestic, Family, and Sexual Violence, including crisis intervention and risk management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information empathetically.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant client management software.

  • Eligibility to work in Australia.
