Patent Specialist Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Patent Agent to build and manage the patent portfolio.

This is a strategic opportunity for an experienced professional to partner with Research Scientists and Engineers, providing IP advice and ensuring that our inventions are properly protected.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of patent law and procedures, excellent communication and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with R&D teams on all IP issues
  • Align IP strategies with business plans
  • Build IP awareness and standard work
  • Lead outside counsel in patent application preparation and prosecution
  • Provide educational presentations on IP matters

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or Physics
  • Registered patent agent before the Canadian Intellectual Property Office and/or U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Patent Agent/Junior Counsel
