As a skilled mechanical technician, you will play a vital role in the commissioning and maintenance of complex mechanical systems on our Hunter Class Frigate project. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team and contribute to the delivery of a world-class naval shipbuilding capability.

Your primary responsibility will be to conduct thorough testing, commissioning, and maintenance of Hull & Deck and/or Power & Propulsion systems, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. You will work closely with our T&C Lead Technicians to execute the T&C program, sharing your technical expertise and supporting training initiatives to drive best practices and foster continuous improvement.

To succeed in this role, you will require a strong background in commissioning and maintenance of mechanical systems, with experience working with hydraulic systems and/or mechanical elements of propulsion systems being highly regarded. You will also need to hold a minimum Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical or equivalent/higher industry-recognised mechanical qualification.

In addition to your technical skills and qualifications, you will possess excellent problem-solving and teamwork abilities, with a proven track record of planning and coordinating tasks to achieve desired outcomes. You will also be proficient in computer-based commissioning documentation, risk assessments, and work instructions.
