About the Role
We are currently looking for a skilled Motor Mechanic (General) to join our team on a full-time basis. You will be responsible for identifying mechanical issues, performing repairs and servicing, and ensuring vehicles operate safely and efficiently. This role suits someone passionate about automotive mechanics who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Inspecting and diagnosing faults in engines, electrical systems, and other mechanical components
• Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering systems, and related parts for repair or replacement
• Repairing or replacing worn and faulty parts and reassembling mechanical systems
• Testing, tuning, and adjusting mechanical components to ensure proper functionality and performance
• Using diagnostic tools and interpreting data to accurately identify vehicle issues
• Performing routine servicing such as oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups
• Ensuring all vehicles meet roadworthy and safety standards in accordance with regulations
• Collaborating with other team members and assisting in maintaining a smooth workshop workflow
• Participating in ongoing training to stay updated with automotive technologies and safety procedures
• Supporting the training and mentoring of apprentices or junior technicians when required
• Liaising with customers to explain repairs and maintaining accurate service and maintenance records
Required Skills & Experience
• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent)
• Minimum 3 years of full-time experience post-qualification
• Sound knowledge of vehicle diagnostics and repair techniques
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Good communication skills and customer service focus
• Valid manual driver’s licence (preferred)
