Gilson College is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Maths Teacher (with the ability to teach VCE Maths) to join the Secondary team at Gilson College. This Part-Time (0.6 FTE) teaching position is open to both experienced teachers and graduates, providing a fantastic opportunity to begin or grow your teaching career in a supportive environment. This role commences in Term 1, 2026.

Responsibilities

- Plan, prepare and teach programs to achieve specific student outcomes
- Use critical reflection to improve the knowledge, learning and skills of students
- Use multiple sources of feedback on their classroom practice to inform their professional learning goals
- Show a willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues to improve teaching and learning within the school and the wider Seventh-day Adventist school system
- Can support and actively promote, and not undermine, the Christian-based values and ethos of the College based on the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
- Have the capacity to teach the Australian curriculum in the context of the college's Christian-based ethos
- Be able to plan for and lead daily Christian-based class devotions to students

Skills and Qualifications

- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate students
- Dedication to evidence-based teaching practices and ongoing professional development
- Time management and organisational abilities
- Current VIT registration and relevant teaching qualifications
- As part of our screening requirement, reference checks will be undertaken including referencing your ability to work safely with children
- These positions are subject to maintaining registration with VIT
