- Company vehicle provided for site visits south of Perth, ensuring your comfort and convenience while supporting essential project activities.

What you’ll do:

As a Project Network Engineer, you will play an integral role in delivering advanced telecommunications solutions by leveraging your extensive experience in network planning, RF/LTE radio design, and backhaul/microwave technologies. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating with both internal teams and external vendors to drive the success of complex RAN projects. You will be instrumental in supporting the project manager through effective vendor management and technical discussions while also contributing your expertise during site surveys. Your ability to prepare detailed documentation will help maintain high standards across all project deliverables. By engaging directly with stakeholders and participating in key meetings, you will ensure that all aspects of the network design process are executed efficiently. This position offers you the chance to make a significant impact on major telecommunications initiatives while enjoying the benefits of flexible working arrangements and supportive leadership.

- Collaborate closely with network planning and design vendors to ensure seamless integration of 4G/LTE/5G solutions across multiple project phases.
- Utilise your RF/LTE radio planning and design knowledge to support public service provider processes using industry-standard tools such as Atoll or Aster.
- Lead backhaul and microwave planning activities by applying hands-on experience with relevant planning tools to optimise network performance.
- Support the project manager by managing vendor relationships and addressing technical queries from deployment partners in a timely manner.
- Contribute to site and tower footprint planning by understanding civil, electrical, power, and battery requirements necessary for robust infrastructure development.

- Assist the RAN telecom team on ongoing Greenfield design initiatives while helping manage schedules and participating actively in vendor meetings.
- Participate in RF and microwave/Line-of-Sight (LoS) related site surveys at locations 100-150kms south of Perth city, utilising a company vehicle for travel.
- Demonstrate high-level understanding of data profiles as well as mining application data and coverage requirements to inform effective network design.
- Prepare comprehensive documentation and reports detailing RAN design and planning activities to ensure transparency and knowledge transfer among teams.

What you bring:

To excel as a Project Network Engineer, you will bring a wealth of hands-on experience from previous roles focused on advanced mobile networks. Your deep familiarity with RF/LTE radio systems, coupled with your ability to navigate complex backhaul/microwave scenarios using leading industry tools, will set you apart. You are adept at fostering positive relationships with vendors while supporting project managers through clear communication and collaborative problem-solving. Your understanding of infrastructure requirements—spanning civil works through power systems—enables you to contribute meaningfully at every stage of the project lifecycle. You thrive when working alongside diverse teams on Greenfield initiatives, demonstrating flexibility during site visits outside Perth. Your analytical mindset ensures that data-driven decisions underpin every aspect of your work, while your meticulous approach to documentation guarantees clarity for all stakeholders involved. Experience with autonomous solution planning is valued but not essential; what matters most is your commitment to delivering quality outcomes within a nurturing team environment.

- Minimum five years’ proven experience working on 4G/LTE/5G network projects with demonstrated success in similar roles.
- Comprehensive knowledge of RF/LTE radio planning and design processes gained through direct involvement with public service providers using Atoll or Aster tools.
- Hands-on expertise in backhaul/microwave planning supported by practical use of industry-standard backhaul planning tools.
- Ability to support project managers effectively through skilled vendor management and clear communication regarding technical queries.
- Solid understanding of site/tower footprint planning including civil, electrical, power, and battery design considerations essential for robust infrastructure.
- Track record of successful project engineering delivery combined with strong stakeholder management skills within RAN environments.
- Experience supporting RAN telecom teams on Greenfield design projects while managing schedules and participating constructively in meetings with vendors or stakeholders.
- Willingness to participate in RF/microwave/LoS site surveys at remote locations south of Perth city; flexibility for travel is required (company vehicle provided).
- High-level understanding of data profiles as well as mining application data needs for optimal coverage requirement analysis.
- Proficiency in preparing thorough documentation and reports related to RAN design/planning activities; attention to detail is essential.
- Prior exposure to bespoke RF/backhaul planning for autonomous solutions (AHS) would be advantageous but not mandatory.
