TAFE Queensland’s Academy of Sport is searching for dynamic, motivated individuals to join our team as part‑time Teachers, delivering world‑class sport education to the next generation of athletes and industry leaders.
The Role
As a TAFE Teacher in Academy of Sport, you’ll do more than teach - you’ll ignite ambition, unlock potential, and guide students on their journey to sporting and professional excellence. Your industry expertise will shape the careers of future athletes, coaches, and sport professionals.
You’ll work directly with students in Brisbane‑based schools, bringing your knowledge and energy into classrooms, gyms, and sporting fields. You’ll help students balance their academic and sporting ambitions, preparing them for success both on and off the field.
Whether you’re delivering hands‑on learning in classrooms, coaching on the field, or supporting students at major sporting venues, every day brings new opportunities to connect, inspire, and make a difference.
We have multiple temporary part‑time (0.28 FTE) Teacher positions available until 31 December 2026 (unless otherwise determined) to join our Academy of Sport team delivering to our TAFE at Schools cohorts in a range of fields including:
- Queensland Touch
- Rugby League
- E‑Sports
This position is primarily based at TAFE Queensland Brisbane’s South Bank campus and reports to the Education Manager, Academy of Sport.
Salary
The salary range for a Teacher is $92,930.03 - $116,332.13 per (gross) per annum plus superannuation contributions of 12.75% of your salary.

Mandatory Requirements
- Vocational competencies at least to the level being delivered and assessed;
- Certificate II Sports Coaching
- Certificate III Sports Coaching
- Possession of one of the following training and assessment credentials:
- TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or its successor;
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment;
- TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment;
- TAE50122 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training or its successor;
- TAE50111 or TAE50116 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training;
- TAE50211 or TAE50216 Diploma of Training Design and Development;
- A secondary teaching qualification and one (1) of the following credentials:
- TAESS00024 VET Delivered to School Students Teacher Enhancement Skill Set or its successor;
- TAESS00011 or TAESS00019 Assessor Skill Set or its successor;
- A higher‑level qualification in adult or vocational education;
- Current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided;
- Current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided;
- Current evidence of undertaking professional development in the fields of the knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment including competency-based training and assessment.

- Current Queensland ‘c’ class Driver’s license.

Highly Desirable
- Previous experience at a tier 1 sports organisation within your chosen field
- Previous experience in the digital eSports field.
