Step Into Your Next Chapter

The focus of the role is to provide support for students with mild to moderate mental health concerns. The wellbeing professionals employed through the Wellbeing Workforce work as part of schools/' established student support teams to enhance wellbeing and mental health support available to students. The Wellbeing Workforce will ensure every Queensland primary and secondary state school student has access to a wellbeing professional at school.

Responsibilities Include

- Assessing client needs, developing care plans, connecting clients with resources and services, advocating for their rights and offering emotional support.

- Operate in an advisory and advocacy capacity providing professional services specific to the social work discipline.

- Respond to the needs of the student population and school community to provide personal and family counselling, therapy and group work, facilitation for referrals to other allied health professionals, and service and care coordination for the purpose of assisting student/'s wellbeing and mental health.

- Support school communities in responding to critical incidents and emergencies as a part of the school response team.

- Participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team within an educational setting, providing support to school, community and inter agency/networks relevant to the position.

The successful person will have access to Department of Education housing, and may be entitled to relocation support.
