About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and collaborative medical leader to join the Rural Support Service as the Rural Clinical (Medical) Advisor – Stroke Services. In this role, you will provide expert clinical leadership and oversight of the stroke services portfolio, supporting regional Local Health Networks (LHNs) to deliver safe, sustainable and high-quality stroke care for country South Australians.

With a strong focus on improving access to 24/7 acute stroke services, you will help shape models of care, strengthen clinical governance, and foster partnerships that enhance outcomes for patients across regional SA.

How Will You Contribute

- Provide expert clinical leadership for the stroke services portfolio, ensuring best practice models of care across regional SA.
- Support regional LHNs to deliver safe, evidence-based, and sustainable acute stroke services, including Telestroke service oversight.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with metropolitan networks, Aboriginal health services, SAAS, MedSTAR, and national stroke bodies.
- Drive continuous improvement through governance participation, quality assurance, research initiatives, and workforce planning.

About RSS

The RSS is a business unit in SA Health and provides services throughout regional South Australia to support the six regional local health networks (LHNs). It employs around 260 people who work in 37 regional, rural and remote SA locations, or in the RSS’s three Adelaide offices.
