Maintenance Handyman at INTREC

This role is responsible for delivering high-quality, timely, and safe maintenance services across UNSW facilities. You’ll support the Facilities Manager and Facilities Coordinator to ensure campus buildings, assets, and grounds remain compliant, functional, and well-presented for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

- Complete general repairs and maintenance (carpentry, patching, painting, plastering, basic plumbing/electrical within licence limits)
- Install and repair fixtures, furniture, and equipment
- Conduct preventative maintenance and basic grounds upkeep
- Assist with event setups, relocations, and building service adjustments
- Follow WHS procedures and promptly report hazards
- Respond to maintenance requests with minimal disruption
- Maintain accurate records and support stock control

The Skills We Need

- Proven experience in general building maintenance and multi-trade repairs (carpentry, painting, basic plumbing/electrical)
- Trade qualification in carpentry or similar (desirable)
- Strong WHS knowledge and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
- Current driver’s licence, White Card, WWCC/Police Check, and First Aid
- Professional, reliable, and committed to continuous improvement
