Overview
Location: Melbourne - CBD and Inner Metro suburbs
Reference: VG/EHEALTH/723122
The Department of Health plays a critical role in the Victorian health system and is responsible for shaping it to meet the health needs of all Victorians. We’re focused on supporting Victorians to be as healthy as they can; whether through alerting them to seasonal risks like thunderstorm asthma, notifying them of contact with communicable diseases, safeguarding their drinking water, developing the best health, wellbeing and care facilities in the world, being at the forefront of mental health and wellbeing treatment or accelerating medical research. It’s all part of the way we partner with the community to help every individual lead a healthy life.
About the role
The Program Manager, M365 and Platforms is responsible for the successful delivery of operations and projects within the Microsoft 365 (M365) and Power Platform suite, ensuring smooth transition to support in accordance with the department/'s approved Project Delivery Methodology (PDM).
This role provides department-wide support for M365 products, including identity and access management for applications. It delivers both proactive and responsive support to application owners, covering break-fix services and enhancement portfolios tailored to evolving business needs.
The Program Manager also oversees the maintenance of applications built on legacy platforms such as Lotus Notes, IBM Forms, and Microsoft Access. A key future responsibility will be to support the retirement of these platforms and facilitate the transition of solutions and skillsets to strategic platforms like Power Platform.
Additionally, the role leads the development and delivery of high-quality solution proposals and implementations across the M365 and Power Platform suite, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technology strategy.
About us
At the Victorian Department of Health we want a future where Victorians are the healthiest people in the world. A Victoria where our children and people thrive, our workplaces are productive and safe, and our communities are more connected.
We see it as our job to support Victorians to stay healthy and safe. And to deliver a world-class healthcare system that ensures every single Victorian can access safe, quality care that leads to better health outcomes for all.
About you
The Department of Health is seeking a dynamic and experienced Program Manager to lead the delivery of strategic initiatives across Microsoft 365 and digital platforms. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence digital transformation and contribute to improved health outcomes for all Victorians.
As Program Manager, you will be responsible for managing multiple, high-impact projects with clearly defined objectives. You will consult and collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure outcomes are achieved on time and within scope, while effectively monitoring performance, managing risks, and resolving issues.
We are looking for a systems thinker who can see the bigger picture—someone who understands organisational linkages and applies strategic insight to drive change. Your ability to conceptualise complex environments and identify opportunities for improvement will be critical to your success.
Leadership is key. You will bring strong personal conviction and the ability to inspire your team, translating department-wide strategy into clear goals and long-term plans. You will build and maintain trusted relationships with a range of stakeholders, understanding their needs and context to deliver mutually beneficial solutions.
Creativity and innovation are highly valued. You will be someone who can generate and apply new ideas to enhance how we work and deliver services. Drawing on diverse information sources, you/'ll champion continuous improvement and be open to new ways of thinking.
If you are a strategic, motivated leader with deep experience in program delivery, digital platforms, and stakeholder engagement, we want to hear from you.
Join us to help shape the future of digital health in Victoria.
