Overview

We are offering casual and permanent part-time roles for suitable candidates. Open to experienced applicants and those entering the industry. Industry-leading induction and on-the-job training provided. This role is for Direct Support Workers in Ipswich and surrounding areas (Brassall, Booval, East/West Ipswich, Raceview) with the opportunity for a permanent roster of employment.

Many vacant shifts are early mornings and afternoons, therefore capacity to undertake some of these shifts would be an advantage.

Shifts available working with adults and with children.

Responsibilities

- Providing personal care support, including showering, toileting, dressing and more

- Administering medications

- Transferring individuals using hoists and/or slide sheets, and general assistance with mobility

- Domestic duties including cleaning, laundry or meal preparation

- Community engagement, such as attending GP appointments, grocery shopping or social or recreational activities of their choice

- Before or after school support including homework, tea preparation, games

Ideal candidate

- Have capacity to work flexible hours on a roster system - CPL provide 24/7 assistance, meaning the more available you are, the more shifts we can potentially offer you

- Are great communicators dedicated to providing the best service for every person

- Are even better listeners who can work autonomously, as well as under direction and within a team environment

- Calm and confident in all different environments and understand the importance of professional boundaries

- Can provide personal care with dignity and sensitivity to our clients

- Belief in an inclusive society and value client focus, respect, inclusion, integrity, excellence, and courage

Before you commence

- Current First Aid and CPR certificates

- A Blue Card (Working with Children Card)

- An NDIS Worker Screening Check (Working with Individuals with Disabilities, formerly a Yellow Card)

- Valid Australian Drivers Licence

- Commitment to infection prevention and control measures including the use of PPE as directed

- A smartphone with an iOS 13.0+ or Android 6.0+ operating system

Expected start date of Mandatory Trainings: Monday 28th April - Friday 2nd May
