Salary: Teacher, $85,610 - $124,016 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA 2023)
This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2026
With an Index of Community Socio-Educational Advantage (ICSEA) of 994, we have around 52% Language background other than English (LBOTE) and over 60 different nationalities represented at Lynwood Senior High School (SHS). The school’s diversity and respect for difference is a feature, enabling our students to become positive, resilient, and confident about their futures. An Intensive English Centre supports the development of language skills for students new to Australia.
Lynwood SHS's learning environment is extremely positive with a strong focus on student wellbeing and the development of social emotional learning through the Homeroom program and a strong Good Standing Policy. Approved Specialist Programs in Soccer and Environment & Life Sciences (EaLS) supports a wide range of General, Vocational Education and Training (VET) and Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) pathways. With over 50 years of history, Lynwood is complex, diverse, and much loved by the school community and staff. The passion and commitment of students, staff and community members working together in a spirit of absolute positivity about what our students can achieve, is a significant hallmark of this wonderful school.
The successful applicant will ideally support the Heads of Student Services (Lower and Senior School) in ensuring there is a clear, strategic and sustainable focus on social-emotional wellbeing, learning support, attendance and behaviour for all students. The successful applicant will ideally have the ability to provide timely and appropriate support to students, staff and parents/carers.
The successful applicant will ideally be an enthusiastic and highly focused individual with effective leadership, communication and behaviour management skills. Applicants with the ability to utilise highly developed interpersonal skills to form effective working relationships with even the most challenging students and parents, will be highly desirable.
It will be important to have strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills which will be used to develop and promote the school’s values, ethos, and priorities across the school community. The successful applicant should build positive relationships with students, be passionate about creating positive futures, and be performance driven.
