This position willappeal to an early-mid career postdoctoral scientist with a strong backgroundin lung cancer biology and aspirations to develop their career. Projects willinvestigate many aspects of lung cancer with a major focus on tumour-innateimmune interactions, mechanisms of metastatic spread and drug resistance.

The successfulcandidate will join a dynamic team of researchers, clinicians andbioinformaticians in a supportive working environment within the SignalTransduction in Cancer Laboratory in the Centre for Cancer Research.

Typical activities for this role include:

- Animal and cell-based models of lung cancer (eg. GeneticallyEngineered Mouse Models (GEMMs) including drug interventions, patient and mousederived cell lines, conventional cell lines)

- Functional and molecular analysis of lung cancer (eg. Western blot,FACS, CRISPR, RNA-sequencing, proteomics)

- Analysis of tissue microenvironment (FACS, immuno-staining)

- Analysis of omics datasets developed in house or public datasetsalongside bioinformaticians (eg. RNA-seq, spatial transcriptomics, WGS, DepMap)

- Will have an increasing degree of autonomy as they gain skills &experience

- Develop hypotheses and conduct experiments to test/validate researchfindings

- Will demonstrate areas of specialist expertise

- Will contribute significant intellectual input into the technicalaspects of research direction

- Working towards an independent research career

The role will suit someone who has:

- Apost-doctoral qualification or other relevant research qualification in healthand medical disciplines with a lung cancer focus

- At least twoyears post-doctoral experience in lung cancer research or extensive relevantexperience and proven specialist expertise

- Experiencewith GEMM and xenograft models of lung cancer

- Experiencewith mammalian tissue culture

- Ability towork independently with cross-disciplinary research team to meet agreeobjectives

EMPLOYMENT TERMS

This position is a fixed term contract role in a full-time capacity. Salary is basedon Research Staff RES A. Superannuation of 12% and very attractive salarypackaging options are available.
