Position Type

This is a full‑time, non‑exempt (hourly) position eligible for overtime and performance‑based commission. The starting hourly rate is $22 and on‑target earnings range from $60k to $75k. High performers can earn more.

Job Summary

The HES (Home Energy Specialist) Assistant Technician conducts Energy Assessments with a main focus on blower‑door guided air sealing.

Essential Functions

- Set up blower doors properly
- Ensure homes are in safe conditions to run blower‑door tests
- Run blower‑door tests before and after sealing
- Thoroughly air seal homes based on blower‑door results
- Air seal attic top plates and penetrations
- Air seal basement rim joists and penetrations
- Weatherize doors and windows in conditioned space
- Document blower‑door readings properly
- Take photos of work being done in the home
- Provide lead technician with all required documentation
- Perform additional tasks as required

Education & Experience

- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Reliable transportation required.
- OSHA 10 and OSHA confined space certification.
- Energize CT HES program knowledge a plus.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment with strong organization and time‑management skills.
- Outgoing, flexible, and personable demeanor.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
- Customer settings: work in and out of doors, including attics, basements, small‑confined spaces, and rooftops.

Physical Demands

- Regularly required to stand, bend, crawl, or kneel in confined spaces; may be required to lift up to 60 pounds; must be able to climb ladders, enter crawl spaces, stand on roofs, and move up and down stairs safely.
- Travel in a personal or company‑provided vehicle.
