About the role

This role is based at a major referral hospital in Far North Queensland. The health service delivers evidence‑based, contemporary public health and clinical interventions with a focus on excellence in care, technology, teaching, research, and empowerment of people with mental illness.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide clinical leadership to a multidisciplinary team

- Oversee inpatient and community mental health and ATOD programs

- Ensure clinical governance

- Contribute to strategic and operational planning

- Deliver education to junior staff and students

- Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education

Mental health services are delivered across diverse settings, including a 38‑bed Acute Adult Mental Health Unit, a 10‑bed Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit, a 12‑bed Sub‑Acute Unit, and a 20‑bed Community Care Unit, with multidisciplinary teams supporting more than 30 facilities across 142,900 square kilometres.
