Overview

HTN is seeking an eager and dedicated 2nd or 3rd Year Apprentice Chef to develop their practical skills and passion for cookery.

This role offers a nationally recognised certification and practical hands-on training that can take you around the world.

Client

Belgrave Cartel is a cafe by day, and Italian bar and restaurant by night, in the heart of Manly. Born out of a love of delicious food, great coffee, and music by three local brothers.

What’s involved

As an Apprentice Chef, you will learn alongside qualified chefs in all aspects of food preparation and presentation. You will work at one of our host venues, handling large quantities of food and a variety of seasonal ingredients. Key activities you can expect will be:

- Assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of Italian cuisine dishes
- Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, choppers, fryers, steamers under supervision.
- Learn different knife and cooking techniques.
- Clean, maintain and store kitchen equipment appropriately.

Must be able to work evenings, weekends & public holidays if required

What we are looking for

To suit this role, you will be an eager and motivated individual with a passion for food, looking to kick-start your culinary career You will have good communication skills, seek out opportunities to learn and show initiative in your everyday duties.

- Previous kitchen-hand or hospitality experience
- Ability to listen and take on instructions
- A willingness to learn new techniques and develop skills
- Dependable and a positive attitude

Eligibility

In order to be eligible for an apprenticeship in NSW you must be either:

- Australian Citizenship
- Australian Permanent Residency
- New Zealand Passport Holder residing in Australia for more than six months
